Solution Data Architect
Visionpool Business Services is hiring a Solution/Data Architect who will be responsible for providing architectural guidance and advice on the implementation and design of the Microsoft Fabric platform and operationalizing governance capabilities to ensure that enterprise data is trusted, secure, compliant, and aligned with business objectives. You will work as part of a larger project team to assist in the transition from inconsistent, siloed IBI reporting to a governed Microsoft Fabric ecosystem. They will provide options and recommendations to the Manager, IT Architecture Services and the Data and Solution Architect. This role will work closely with the technical leads to assist in the implementation of:

Responsibilities:

Provide architectural guidance and advice on the implementation and design of the Microsoft Fabric platform.

Assist the technical lead to:
-
Embed governance controls across Microsoft Fabric Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.
-
Implement enterprise data catalog and lineage using Microsoft Purview.
-
Develop and enforce an enterprise Data Quality framework with rules, standards, and monitoring.
-
Establish data security, privacy, compliance, classification, and RBAC governance controls.

Assist the Data and Solution Architect in:
-
Defining and executing the enterprise-wide Data Governance strategy and maturity roadmap.

Establish governance principles, standards, and alignment with business domains and regulatory needs.
-
Design and implement data ownership, stewardship, and governance process frameworks.
-
Operationalize governance across data quality, metadata, security, and lifecycle management.
-
Establishing and leading the Data Governance operating model, including council, roles, and cadence.
-
Define, track, and report governance KPIs and data quality metrics.

Provide guidance to help build and manage metadata standards and enterprise business glossary in alignment with industry best practices.

Develop a plan to migrate existing data within legacy systems to Microsoft Fabric.

Develop a plan to decommission a DRIVE solution.
Qualifications:

Demonstrated expertise in the following competencies:

End-to-End Data Platform Architecture

Deep expertise in designing governed, scalable data platforms across multi-layered architectures (e.g., ingestion, refined, and curated layers), ensuring seamless integration and alignment with enterprise analytics and reporting objectives.

Enterprise Metadata Management, Cataloging & Data Lineage

Advanced proficiency in implementing enterprise-wide data catalog and metadata management solutions, including lineage tracking and business glossary frameworks to ensure data transparency, discoverability, and traceability.

Data Security, Privacy & Compliance Architecture

Expertise in defining and enforcing enterprise data protection strategies, including data classification, role-based access control (RBAC), privacy safeguards, and regulatory compliance across data assets.

Data Governance Integration into DevOps & Delivery Pipelines
-
Ability to embed data governance controls, such as quality gates, approvals, and standards into modern data engineering practices and automated delivery pipelines.

Legacy-to-Modern Data Platform Transformation Leadership

Proven experience leading complex data platform modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy systems to modern architectures, with strong emphasis on governance, standardization, and operational continuity.
